Asbestos Information and FAQ’s Part Two
Welcome to part two of the discussion. Let me address the elephant in the room before we begin. Some of you have asked about loose-fill asbestos insulation and what it is.
That is the insulation made from the materials of raw asbestos. It has been crushed into a very fine state and has been used for ceiling insulation.
It is important not to disturb these fibers. You might inadvertently let something loose, causing it to go seep into the walls and floors of the room.
Now onto more of the FAQs.
1)How Can I Find Someone Certified and Qualified To Remove It?
Do a Google search for an asbestos contractor in your area. You should search while prioritizing your location. You also need to search for accreditation. Some states require the contractors and the team to go through separate training and accreditation.
The bottom line, you need to hire someone who is licensed and qualified to handle the asbestos. Asbestos can be dangerous to your health and loved on if left in the wrong hands.
2)I Want To Buy A Home
It has Vermiculite Attic Insulation. Should This Be Removed Before Or After Buying?
We get that question a lot. You need to take notice of where it is located. Has it been left undisturbed(even for just a small period)? You might not have to do anything with it.
Get someone to come out and examine the vermiculite in detail. Now, you need to hire a separate asbestos contractor to take a look at the whole house. Two separate inspections will reduce the chances of a conflict of interest.
